✔ Unmatched Accessibility & Visibility

The Oak Hill Y improvements began in 2021 and, once complete in 2026, will create an overpass affecting 252,000 SF of commercial businesses along the Y at Oak Hill and Highway 71. Many of these businesses will lose visibility and direct access, making Covered Bridge Village the go-to retail hub for locals and commuters.

✔ The First Stop for Customers & Commuters

Once construction is complete, Covered Bridge Village will be one light away from downtown Austin and the first easily accessible retail center for traffic heading west toward Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, and beyond.

✔ Increased Traffic Flow to Highway 71

TXDOT engineers predict that commuters who have been avoiding Oak Hill and the Y by using Southwest Parkway will return to Highway 71, driving increased traffic past Covered Bridge Village and boosting potential footfall for its businesses.

✔ Fast-Growing Community with Built-In Customer Base

Positioned between Bee Cave, Barton Creek, Dripping Springs, South Austin, and Downtown Austin, Covered Bridge Village is surrounded by a high-income, growing residential base that supports retail, dining, and service-based businesses.

TxDOT is building an upgraded, state-of-the-art highway consisting of 2-to-3 non-stop US 290 mainlanes for through traffic in each direction, as well as 2-to-3 frontage road lanes in each direction.

Oak Hill Parkway

How the Oak Hill Parkway Project Benefits Covered Bridge Village:

Soon Covered Bridge Village will be one light from downtown Austin and the first commercial business easily accessible when traveling from Austin to Bee Cave.

TX DOT engineers expect that much traffic traveling on Southwest Parkway and currently avoiding the Y will come back to Highway 71, saving significant time going west on Highway 71 to Bee Cave and beyond.
